Top Ten Tuesday: Authors I’ve Read The Most Books From

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme sponsored by the The Broke and The Bookish. This week is Author’s I’ve Read the Most Books From!

Here are mine:

1. Colleen Hoover – I mean, really, are you surprised? Her writing just seems to get better and better. Ugly Love is one of my absolute faves. I can re-read that book over and over and it never gets old!

2. Abbi Glines – I’m pretty sure I read all 6 of these in the span of about two days because once I got a glimpse of Rush I could not stop.

3. George R.R. Martin – Although I’m half-convinced the next book is never coming, I had to get through all of these just in case it was suddenly released and I wasn’t ready. My hubby and I joke that one day we’ll find the time to do the epic re-read.

4. Mitch Albom – It’s been a while since I’ve read any of these, but they are definitely the type that stick with you! Tuesdays with Morrie is definitely a five-star read.

5. Sylvia Day – Oh Gideon…

6. Suzanne Collins – Loved it all. So excited for the last movie this fall.

7. Stieg Larsson – I have mixed feelings on this series but ultimately had to finish it out. I hear there’s a new co-authored book coming out.

8. Veronica Roth – So here’s another series I blew through because of my massive crush on Four. Even read the shorts. I couldn’t be stopped.

5 NA Books Worth Reading!

I have been in an insatiable reader lately, finally getting through a bunch of books that have long topped my TBR list. The thing is, I knew the hype, I knew what others had said, but for whatever reason these books had just been hanging out on my ereader, unread. Looking back, I wish I’d gotten to these sooner. They are gems. They completely sucked me in.

Here’s my list of 5 recent reads that were TOTALLY worth reading:

  1. Ugly Love – Colleen Hoover. Just wow. This book blew my mind. I read it quickly, ravenously, and then I promptly read it again, loving every word.
  2. Maybe Someday – Colleen Hoover. After being completely captivated by Ugly Love, I had to read the book some claimed was even better. I’ll admit it didn’t outrank Ugly Love for me, but a great, engrossing read nonetheless.
  3. Mud Vein – Tarryn Fisher. Totally not what I was expecting, but beautifully done. Gritty. Engrossing. I could not put this one down.
  4. Fallen Too Far – Abbi Glines. In all fairness, I should probably list all four of the Too Far books here, because seriously, they are that good. All of them. Because this is the first, the one that kickstarted my Rush Crush and derailed my entire weekend while I soaked in every word of the series, it gets the credit here.
  5. Sweet Filthy Boy – Christina Lauren. Another book that took me by surprise. Not at all what I was expecting but exactly what I wanted to read. The words stood out to me, so beautifully capturing the fall, the rush, the uncertainty of love. I completely recommend.

Now I just need to figure out what to read next! 🙂

My Top 5 Books of 2014

Here are my top 5 books I read in 2014:

  1. We Were Liars – E. L. Lockhart
I think I’ve read this book twice more since I first finished it, and it still gets me. I love the writing. I love the characters. I love the storyline. Easily my favorite book of the year, this is one I doubt I’ll ever forget.
  2. Me Before You – Jojo Moyes
This was such a beautiful story. I totally fell in love with Lou and Will. Their banter. Their day-to-day. I wanted it to go on forever.
  3. The Sea of Tranquility – Katja Millay
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve re-read this one. It’s my go-to book whenever I’m in a reading rut. I just re-read The Sea of Tranquility. And it never gets old.
  4. Divergent – Veronica Roth
This book threw me into a tailspin. I immediately read the remainder of the series, followed by all the shorts about Four.
    I. Could. Not. Get. Enough! This is by far my favorite book in the series – so captivating!!
  5. Fangirl – Rainbow Rowell
I had to deliberate long and hard about whether to put this or Eleanor and Park to round out my top 5. I loved them both. Rainbow has this beautifully simplistic way of capturing memorable, real characters that I just love. She’s kicked off an obsession where I have to read everything she’s written. I know I’ll love it all.

What were your 2014 favorites? Did any of mine make your list?
